GM's Bob Lutz to be succeeded by Opel's Peter Forster

Bob Lutz, 74, is well over his retirement age. Rick Wagoner, Chairman, informed GM Europe President, Carl-Peter Forster, that he will take over Bob Lutz's position in 2008.

It was Forster's plans to import Opels to North America as Saturns. He mentioned that the Vectra Wagon and the Zafira MPV will reach the US as Saturns, joining the Astra and the Aura. Forster mentioned that by 2014, Opels and Saturns would be completely interchangeable. With the Antara SUV coming to NA as the Vue, the Astra, and the Corsa (next-generation) model all confirmed in coming to NA, is Forster the one to succeed Lutz in his position?
