Skoda, Meet 'Stralya: Australian introduction set for October

Skoda, VW's Czech subsidiary, is prepping for entrance to Australia. Marking the 100th market the automaker is entering, 14 dealerships across the continent are expected to open by this year. Initially, Skoda will be offering the popular Roomster MPV, Octavia Hatch/Estate, and the high-performance Octavia RS. "The launch in Australia is another symbol of Skoda Auto´s international expansion", stated Fred Kappler, Skoda BOD Member. Skoda will make its debut in the Down-Under at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney, occurring in October.

We wonder if Skoda will ever meet its eyes in North America. We're positive the chic Fabia hatchback will sell like hotcakes here. The Roomster will definitely raise a few eyebrows or more. The perfect combination to dominate in the heated compact segment the Big 2.5 are struggling to contend in.
