Mercedes-Benz gives green-light for Ocean Drive Concept production

Motor Trend is reporting that the four-door convertible unveiled in Detroit this year, is approved for production. Production dates are speculated to be 2011 and it will be based on the S600. They will most likely share powertrains and the 5.5L V12 is most likely to be the main variant. However, we're talking four years from now. So, by then, powertrains would be larger and more powerful.

The eye-catching part was its four-door cabriolet design which raised questions on its fate in our local Benz dealerships. Follow the jump to view a hi-res image gallery of the Ocean Drive Concept.
