Honda plans on dropping Accord Hybrid

According to Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Honda plans on axing the Accord Hybrid when they release the next-generation Accord in the fall. Honda will focus more on the Civic Hybrid and another subcompact hybrid in the works. Instead, the Accord will opt for a new clean-diesel engine.

2009 will be a big year at Honda as they will unveil two fuel-efficient vehicles. An entry-level, mass-produced hybrid car will be priced at around $25,000 and is expected to go on sale worldwide. Honda also plans on producing a production version of the Small Hybrid Sports Concept.
