Kia Motors has revealed the official specifications of its Forte compact sedan for the South Korean market today. Due to go on sale August 21st in the country, the Forte will replace the Cerato/Cerato Euro.
The Forte grows in every dimension from its predecessor. It is 4530 mm in length and 1775 mm in width to be precise. The range-topping trim runs on 17-inch alloy wheels with 215/45R17 tires. In the home market, the Forte will be available in two powertrain configurations: a 124 horsepower 1.6L Gamma 4-cylinder gasoline engine or a 128 horsepower 1.6L diesel engine. The former achieves 14.1 km/L or 33 MPG, while the diesel boasts 16.5 km/L or 38 MPG. A more powerful 2.0L 4-cylinder gasoline engine will be launched later.
The Forte also introduces new features that were previously unheard of in cars of its class. It can be opted with premium items such as voice-activated navigation system, super-vision cluster gauges, push-button start with smart key entry, Bluetooth hands-free, side mirror repeaters, and 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels.
