Our jaws were literally dropped when we received these exclusive images via a reader "ShunK" in what seems to be web cam images of the new Hyundai Tiburon (BK). This is a surprise to us because we were more so expecting a concept version with the moniker "Genesis Coupe" for debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The BK, here undisguised completely, is placed beside a Ford Mustang GT and we presume this was the benchmark Hyundai has taken with the new Tiburon.
The new Tiburon will be available with a standard 2.0L horizontally-placed 4-cylinder turbo engine that produces 215 horsepower. The upper-end models will receive a 3.8L V6 300 horsepower engine. There is a strong possibility that the North American models will be available with a 4.6L V8 with horsepowers in excess of 350. The Genesis Coupe, the precursor to the production Tiburon seen here, will debut at the LA Auto Show this month. However, there is no need for the added suspense with these latest images.
Update: These images were taken by a digital camera during a consumer's clinic for the BK that was held in the US sometime in June. This is the reason why we see the Mustang placed beside the BK. In one of the images Autoblog received, a Mitsubishi Eclipse and a Honda Civic Coupe Si is also seen.
