New York Preview: 2008 Subaru Impreza revealed by magazine

The next-generation Subaru Impreza has been kept quiet in the automotive industry since its start of development. Our vague knowledge of the new Impreza consisted of it being in a hatchback form, instead of the traditional sedan form it followed, and that it will debut next month in the Big Apple. Well, just like a member of CarSpyShots.net who scanned the glory pics on the web stated, the cat's out of the bag.

On the latest issue of Motor Trend which just reached the subscribers, and has yet to reach the newsstands, the official pics of the new Impreza have been published. As our guesstimates have pointed to, the new Impreza, which will only come in WRX and STi form, will consist of a hatchback variant only. Specs and features have not been released yet, but pictures are worth a thousand words and they were enough to give us a clear thought that Subaru has done its job well. The interior seems to be leaning towards the generic side and we prefer the current Impreza's sleek, but simple interior.

The new Impreza is set to debut next month in New York, alongside the "re-designed" B9 Tribeca crossover. The embargo has been broken for one Subie. We hope the second one will stay behind covers until its formal debut date. We'll bring you extensive coverage of the NYIAS when press days begin on April 4th. Stay tuned.
